Montana Story plot
Cal and his sister Erin return to their childhood farm. It is here that they are confronted with their family's legacy and must chart a new course for themselves. The lives of their ailing father and their beloved horse are at stake.

The movie isn't that bad. It does ripple along a bit, but as the film progresses the tragedy and the resulting current relationship between the brother and sister unravels without exaggerated sentiment. The acting is excellent and Montana is beautifully portrayed. Together with the 'relaxing' pace, this results in a soothing film. En passant we get a little bit of the original population and some Kenyan wisdom. How can someone be so smart and so stupid at the same time? How could someone so loved be so cruel?'. To know who said that when and why in the movie, you have to watch it yourself.

Good film about a brother and sister who see each other again after years when their father is dying. The slowness suits the film perfectly, but it could easily have been a lot shorter. The relationship between brother and sister is well developed. Good acting and of course some nice pictures of Montana. A narrow 3.5 stars.
