Mon Oncle Antoine plot
Quebec, the 1940s: Benoit is a fifteen-year-old orphan who goes to live with his uncle Antoine and his aunt Cecile in a small mining town. The two are the owners of the local grocery store. There is a good atmosphere in the village around Christmas. Some of the poorer residents, however, have to carry on with their normal work in order to survive, chopping wood in the forests around the village. When Benoit and his uncle hear that a fellow villager has died as a result, they set out to retrieve his body.
