"Inspired by the true story of bathing beauties!"
The Australian Annette goes swimming, while she would rather have gone to ballet. She leaves with her father for London where she meets James Sullivan (Mature). He becomes her manager and devises a stunt to get her swimming career off the ground: she goes 50 km. swimming in the Thames. This stunt is a great success and they leave for New York. Annette and James fall in love, but trouble separates them. Annette goes swimming for a water ballet and the ballet manager proposes to her.
