Mercy or Murder? plot

Roswell and Emily Gilbert live in Florida and have been married for 51 years. For the past eight years, Emily has suffered from Alzheimer's and osteoporosis. She is in so much pain that she begs for euthanasia. In March 1985, 75-year-old Roswell shot his wife in the head. He declares it was an act of compassion, but he is charged with murder by the authorities. This drama actually happened caused a lot of commotion in the country at the time.
