The scenes in which Tyler Perry appears as Madea or Joe are usually fun and funny. But Tyler Perry as a director also wants to make it a nice romantic story with the necessary drama and he doesn't really succeed in that. The drama and romance is a bit too sweet given the many poetic dialogues. 5/10

Oops, what was this now?
The pedantic is really on top; behave yourself, do your homework, talk politely... ew.
What a difference from the last Madea movie I saw, from '23. Madea is clearly still of the old-fashioned upbringing here, because in the first half hour she has already thrashed three children, once even with a belt. Well, he asked for it...
At the end we are treated to a real open-air church service, in the presence of Maya Angelou, where the youth present is addressed in a punitive manner by Cicely Tyson as Aunt Myrtle: we see you swearing, fighting, women hardly wear any clothes... euh , excuse me? We see men with bare upper arms throughout the film, but woe betide if a woman shows a little too much nakedness.
The word God also comes up very often, you don't see that at all in the last Madea.
Despite that prudish, moralistic drivel, I certainly enjoyed and laughed, especially Tyler Perry as Madea: "That baby is speaking to you... say goodmorning!"
Lots of slow R&B.
