Sam, a jazz singer with a husky, sensual voice, waits every day in a hotel room for a phone call from his wife. His wife died a year ago, but Sam has not yet recovered from her death. He doesn't want to sing or laugh anymore. One night, however, a young girl on the run from her suitor locks herself in his bathroom. Frail, like the comma in her mathematical first name, Pi refuses to come out, reassured by Sam's voice. Through this door, which allows them to surrender without fear, Sam and Pi come to know each other, to love each other, and finally escape from their enclosure.
