Hmm, in the booklet there was a romantic drama and this seemed like a suitable film, but unfortunately there was little of the drama and romance. The movie was primarily a poker movie.

The acting performances were decent and the story was captivating all the way through. I didn't think the movie was bad at all and it's worth watching if you're in the mood for a poker movie. As a drama/romantic film, this one is tubed.

Very mediocre.

Nice to see how such an American film relates to the HK poker and gambling. Unfortunately, I am having a lot more fun with that movie. What is especially striking is that it is all very serious and realistic. Gambling and poker in HK is a safe conduct for some supernatural skills that are often portrayed with a lot of panache, here it is already dry what the clock strikes.

To each his own of course, I found it quite boring. Without actually knowing anything about the rules, you can actually dream the film and that's a shame. For a few matches of which you know the result anyway, it doesn't have to be that realistic for me.

Romantic story takes place in the margins, the drama between Duvall and Bana is rarely captivating. Otherwise very boring and poorly designed, but I expect that from Hanson in the meantime. The film was eventually tracked down by Downey Jr.'s bit part, but that's completely worthless and more of an excuse for a standout cameo than it really adds anything to the film.

Not a very exciting film for something that lasts two hours. The gambling games themselves are still fun to follow, but that can also be much more fun.

1.5*

Indeed a bit of "The Color of Money" but in a poker story. The film looked nice and the poker matches were beautifully portrayed. The final also featured real-life poker legends such as Mike "The Mouth" and Phil Hellmuth. The cast did a pretty good job in this movie and Drew Barrymore looked pretty good. Just a nice light-hearted drama and more or less nothing.
