Low Life plot
Carmen meets Hussain, an Afghan poet who is studying French, at university and the two fall in love. Charles is distraught over the loss of 'his' Carmen. Hussain learns that his asylum application has been rejected and Carmen is left terrified when Hussain goes outside. Hussain decides to stay inside from now on, but slowly gets the feeling that Carmen is so on his lip that he can no longer write. He feels suffocated and leaves. Meanwhile, Charles has not yet given up hope of a life with Carmen.
