Lorenzo's Oil plot

"Some people make their own miracles."

In September 1983, Michaela and Augusto Odone move from the Comoros to Washington with their five-year-old son Lorenzo. For Lorenzo, the adjustment is difficult and he gets involved in several riots at school. Because the incidents follow each other at a rapid pace and Lorenzo's behavior is increasingly disturbed, the Odones consult various doctors. None of the doctors consulted knows what is wrong with the boy. It wasn't until 1984 that Doctor Judalon made a decision: Lorenzo has the rare and mysterious disease ALD, an abnormality of metabolism that causes the brain to die. There is no therapy and the development is unstoppable. Lorenzo has only two years left to live...

A story that you cannot ignore.

Thought the initiatives of both parents, ignorant of medical knowledge, were punishing and implausible, but afterwards I read that the facts actually took place. Yes, then I pass, and then I find the film justified in its emotion and certainly not tearful (You just have to experience it!).

Cinematically, I have no negative comments for this print. The story is understandable and constructively worked out with perfect timing and good scenes and the actors are quite good. Nick Nolte's Italo-American is totally unimportant in the assessment of the film.

A sad film with a lot of atmosphere and strong, realistic gameplay. Nice to see the parents fighting so hard for their son. It touched me. Intense and moving. The movie is very long. Over time, my focus waned a bit. Therefore a 7. 3.5 *
