The figures mentioned somewhere in the middle are incomprehensible now - something like 2% of rape cases apparently resulted in a conviction. In the mid-70s, apparently just about anything could be done except bring rapists to trial. In stark contrast to now, perhaps, and perhaps that is a good thing, although it does sometimes seem as if we are experiencing a revival of patriarchy, and women are regarded primarily as property, an investment, a sustainable means of production, and any conceivable damage to that must be punished severely. Feminism and patriarchy in collaboration, strange as it may sound, it does seem to be the reality of today.

I have a vague acquaintance who uses and abuses every conceivable opportunity to convince everyone that women's rights are so important - and in doing so forgets that he is a man, and should just shut up and listen to what women themselves have to say. Like Margaux Hemingway eventually does in this film, perhaps, although it is actually mainly a pretty bad and also very exploitative film. And not only in the role of Margaux herself and all the over the top exploitation of it, but also how her too young sister was taken along in it. You would call the correlation for less.
