Debrecen, circa 1890. At a boarding school, the intelligent eleven-year-old Misi Nyilas manages to pay for his studies by tutoring a classmate. The cruel teachers don't make it easy for him. One day, however, he is falsely accused of stealing a lottery ticket and gets into trouble for not wanting to betray the real culprit.
