Le Soulier de Satin plot

First full-length film adaptation of Paul Claudel's theater work. In the Age of Spanish Gold, Dona Prouhèze, the wife of a nobleman, falls in love with Don Rodrigo who is forced to leave Spain and go to America. Meanwhile, Prouhèze is sent to Africa to rule the city of Mogador. Ten years later, Rodrigo leaves America behind and travels to Africa in search of Prouhèze, to discover how she died and eventually meet her daughter.
