Le Bagnard plot

The practice of Dr. Julien in Marseille consists mainly of the treatment of drug addicts. One day, one of his patients dies during a surgical procedure and Julien cannot resist the temptation: he steals the dead man's money and hides his corpse in a coffin. But the case comes to light and is misinterpreted. He is convicted of murdering a junkie and imprisoned in Cayenne Prison in French Guiana. However, he manages to escape and the Indians give him shelter. When a yellow fever epidemic hits their tribe, he gets the chance to prove his qualities. A young woman helps him fight the disease and Julien begins to realize that a new meaningful life is possible for him.
