Last Chants for a Slow Dance plot
A psychological portrait of an unemployed hitchhiker, Tom, roaming Montana in search of work. A brief visit to his family early in the film details his troubled marriage and suggests that his travels are nothing more than running away from his responsibilities. As he travels further, it becomes clear that he is more interested in those around him than in finding a job. Tom's mix of charm and obnoxiousness indicate that he didn't just run away from his family, but that there may be more at play.
