Lapin Sota plot

Finland, 1944. As the Second World War draws to a close, young Finnish soldiers Heikki and Pauli take their first steps toward adulthood. Amidst the ruthless vastness of the Arctic Circle, and despite rising tension on the front, friendships form and forbidden love blossoms between local Finnish women and the German soldiers stationed in the region. Interpreter Saara Vainio leaves her husband for the German officer Duisberg, thereby defying both conventions and her country. When news of the armistice between Finland and the Soviet Union reaches the front, everything changes.
