Great movie, wish it had been longer.

A comparison with Into The Wild is necessary, but where Into The Wild is packed with events, this film quietly flows on. Beautiful images of nature and a convincing cast are worth at least a 3.5 for me.

Meh, pretty boring. The cast plays quite ok but the story is very slow and has little to do. Maybe nice if you like mountain landscapes and find it relaxing to look at such images, otherwise it's not much.

Demiàn Bichir looks a lot like Robin Williams - not just because of that beard, but also because of the smile that is never really happy, the thousand yard stare that sees things far in the distance that can't be forgiven, that can't be spoken about because there are no words for it. The classic man, the tragic hero who needs rescue, but can only find it if he saves someone himself.

And that turns out to be the case, because the film presents someone worthy of saving - the leading role of Robin Wright, of course, whom we have already gotten to know from a long and unnecessary clue-dropping introduction. That annoying and rather self-fulfilled lady who can't chop wood, who doesn't know what to do with a sweet little black bear who comes to ask her for a cup of sugar as a neighbor, and who doesn't understand that you have to provide enough food in the winter.

But gradually she learns it, the pace of the land, of the animals, and finally that of the people. What comes, goes.

Godmiljaar, what a beautiful movie this is. And don't even get me started on the visuals or the soundtrack.
