Doña Ángelica, a young widow of 18 years old, falls in love and wants to marry an army officer named Don Manuel. To do this, she must avoid the vigilance of her sister-in-law, who wants to send her to the convent for the rest of her life. To do this, she devises an ingenious plan that allows her to communicate with Don Manuel in a seemingly mysterious and inexplicable way, appearing as a ghost.
