Kleine Schwester plot
Disciplined and well-organized Kathrin Rubakow (Simon) is on duty with the Border Police (BSG) in a lost corner of Saxony that borders the Czech Republic. She preys on people smugglers and has a very good relationship with her colleague Ulf Weinhold (Fürmann). They hope to get married, get a promotion and end up at the BSG at the airport in Berlin. Through German unification, Kathrin meets her nineteen-year-old half-sister Romy (Zimmering), who enters the skinhead world. Kathrin is very caring for her sister, but faces a conflict of conscience and inner tensions when she discovers that Romy's boyfriend Schnaubi (Szymanski) is at the head of a group of skinheads and Ulf falls in love with the rebellious Romy.
