Kiryûin Hanako no Shôgai plot
1920s, Japan. Gangster boss Onimasa of the Kiryuin family accepts a young girl named Matsue as payment for an outstanding debt. He adopts the girl. The story begins when Onimasa's real daughter has died and Matsue tells the family story through flashbacks. A years-long dispute between Onimasa and a gangster boss named Suenaga begins with a dogfight. Suenaga kills the winner's dog and threatens Onimasa. Tension rises as the feud between the gangsters continues and can only be ended by force. Meanwhile, Matsue grows up to be a beautiful woman who remains very close to her adopted father, despite the birth of his real daughter.
