Because of her appearance and her last name (Kumada = bear + rice field), high school student Risa is often derogatoryly called “Pooh”. She hardly has anyone to talk to except for her parrot and a goldfish in the biology classroom, until she befriends the popular and confident Izumi and she finally enjoys going back to school. Risa and Izumi do pretty much everything together, but Izumi's sweet, innocent demeanor is starting to look more and more like a cover.
