Kahlschlag plot
Martin and Eric have been friends since they went fishing in the lake as little boys. They grew up in a small village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, wandered through the woods and fell in love with the same girl. Their friendship was also marked by rivalry and it is Eric who has an affair with Frenni. Eric's jealous and aggressive twin brother Basti causes Eric's relationship with Frenni and his friendship with Martin to come to an end. A few years later Eric returns and calls Martin to account.
