When 13-year-old surfing champion Johnny Kapahaala moves from Hawaii to Vermont, he is convinced that the fun in his life is over for good. He dreads leaving his friends and his beloved grandfather behind. In his new neighborhood he feels like an outsider, until he discovers a new sporting challenge: snowboarding. However, the problems are not completely over yet as Johnny finds himself between two rival gangs. Can he cool the feud once and for all?
