Januskopf plot

The professor of human genetics Hülsenbeck is aware of his social responsibility as a scientist. Therefore, he emigrated from Nazi Germany to the United States. But if he is also exposed to anti-humanism there, he returns afterwards and finds his home in the GDR. When asked to stay in the socialist federation and continue to work and do research in the field of human genetics, he declines because he believes it is not a "moral mission" as he has been suggested. But Hülsenbeck is desperately needed, which is why he is pressured by Secretary of State Brock and encouraged by his friend and colleague Slatkow...
