Reasonable thriller of Dutch-Belgian origin in which a celebrity is kidnapped somewhere in the Ardennes. The plot or underlying motives of the how and why was well worked out and distinguishes itself from a typical abduction. A constant tension and polarization was proposed between beauty and ugliness. Beauty and ugliness are subjective data and one cannot exist without the other. There was the necessary depth in what both concepts do to someone. Although at times it was just too thick to indicate the contrasts. Transience through art was also mentioned. In other words, some thought has gone into the plot.

What really bothered me the most were the limited acting performances. Tineke Caels, for example, didn't seem natural to me with her wooden lyrics. Little flair and talk too "general civilized Dutch" to come across as good. I also missed the necessary playfulness or cunning with her co-player Halina Reijn.

The ending was OK, but a little predictable. Here and there some strange situations that raised eyebrows, but all in all not bad to see. You are usually a little more lenient for a homegrown film. Just enough, but certainly not a Golden Palm winner.
