The young English Gillian Malken starts working as an au pair for the Beeman family. It seems like a model family, but it soon becomes apparent that something strange is going on: an invisible child seems to live in the family, who gets just as much attention as the two other children. Gillian turns to child protection, but she soon regrets it.
