Il Mulino del Po plot
A miller cannot pay the usury tax to a large landowner. His son sets the mill on fire and is imprisoned. His future son-in-law is forced to work for the exploiter after all and does not side with the millers in a strike conflict. The miller's son who has been released holds him responsible for the suffering of the family and kills him.
