The children Conrad and Sally Walden are home alone with their goldfish. It is raining and they are bored. But then the bell rings and a big cat with a funny hat enters the room. It is the Cat in the Hat who comes along with his friends to have fun. In the beginning it is all fun and all the imagination becomes reality. But then things get too colorful and the cat really has to leave before Conrad and Sally's parents get home.

As bad as the numbers suggest I think is a bit exaggerated.
The film is very over the top and goes from hot to her but for the kids this was great entertainment......nice and crazy movie.
Myers is perfect for this kind of role but we already knew that.
Bombastic film with lots of color.........just up to 3 stars.

What a strange, peculiar and totally crazy children's film with too many adult jokes. Oddly enough, quite entertaining, but I kept wondering how this got through the studio board. Also, this strange scenario has great production value, so they obviously saw a lot of potential in it. Must have been the success of The Grinch This movie was clearly made by a bunch of moronic hippies who have eaten certain mushrooms. I could laugh about it.
