Farmer's daughter Vreni and neighbor Sali are madly in love with each other and nothing seems to stand in the way of their happiness. But their fathers Jakob and Martin get into a fight over a piece of land that actually belongs to a third party. If the intervention of a judge is inconclusive, both families will fight each other. In this struggle, Vreni and Sali's relationship is taboo, but their love is so strong that they look for a way out together.
