I Could Read the Sky plot

From his shabby room in London, an old man (Dermot Healy) looks back on his life when he fled the rural west of Ireland to England to work as a labourer. He tells stories of families who were divided, brothers who disappeared, love, friendship and camaraderie among the many other Irishmen who made the same journey and shared the same experiences.
