Horse Girl plot

Sarah (Alison Brie) is a socially awkward young woman. She is quite the misfit who loves crafts, horses and supernatural crime shows. Sarah's social life is largely limited to conversations with her colleague in the hobby shop where she works. Her life changes quite a bit when she finds that her lucid dreams are slowly entering her real life.

Good film about a woman with her own life that is disrupted when she has strange dreams. The course of the film is not easy to predict, partly due to the somewhat light-hearted tone. The main character's world and state of mind are well portrayed without it becoming a vague trip. Alison Brie is convincing, but towards the end it falls just a bit, which means that it just falls short of 4.0 stars.

Powerful film about a woman who falls into a psychosis and loses sight of reality. Or is she right and was she really abducted by aliens? The answer is not that important, everyone has their own reality.

Not much to get here for the sci-fi enthusiast (although the aliens do look cool), but Horse Girl is very successful as a look into the life of someone with a serious mental illness.

As far as I'm concerned, another interesting Netflix production that knows how to build up in the right way and slowly but surely fires many question marks at the viewer, so that you "have to" keep watching.
A film that sometimes reminds a little bit of Lynch's style, although it is of course not that brilliant, it keeps your attention without any effort.

Don't expect clear explanations either, it seems to take place for the most part in Sarah's head and depression, so as a viewer you might as well view the film through colored glasses.

Uncomfortable, mysterious, strongly acted.
