Holy Flying Circus plot
In 1979, the Monty Python Comedy team returns from Tunisia after shooting the film Monty Python's Life of Brian. After its premiere in America, the film is pilloried by far-right religious groups. In England, a member of the Church of St. Sophia finds a copy of the script in a garbage can, after which the film is banned in many places. Death threats follow from Michael Palin, one of the actors. Finally, insane TV host Alan Dick invites Michael Palin and John Cleese on his late night show to defend the film against the Bishop of Southwark and religious commentator Malcolm Muggeridge.
