Highway West plot
"Highroad to Action and Romance!"
Young Claire Abbott meets George Foster and, despite only knowing each other briefly, marries him. George always takes a lot of money home and buys all kinds of beautiful things for Claire, who believes he is a traveling businessman. In reality, however, George is a bank robber. One day, during a bank robbery, George kills a bank employee and the California police are hunting him. With Claire, George tries to flee west, but he is eventually captured and convicted. Meanwhile, Claire returns and runs a motel and gas station with her grandfather and sister Myra Abbott. Claire's life is now dull, but changes drastically when George escapes from prison three years later and forces her to protect him.
