Give Them Wings plot
"The true story of how one man fought back, and won."
Paul Hodsgon was ten months old when he was diagnosed with meningococcal meningitis. The doctors predict that he will only live a few short years. Yet he grows up and, despite being in a wheelchair and struggling with speech and coordination problems, becomes a heavy drinking Quakers fan with an active social life. At home, however, he is saddled with the role of mediator between his rambunctious mother Alice and his gruff father Norman who - "deprived of a son" - has died.
