Inmate Clarence Earl Gideon (Fonda) changed the American justice system. He was jailed in the 1960s for a minor offense and was denied legal aid because he had no money. He dug into the law books and concluded that everyone was entitled to a lawyer. Based on the book by Anthony Lewis.
