1963. Byron de la Beckwith shoots black Medgar Evers, and no jury manages to reach a unanimous verdict so that he can be received with a parade at home. Young lawyer Bobby de Laughter now wants to comply with the request of the widow Myrlie Evers by reopening the case and still finding justice.
