Pierre Lambert buys a bar in Pigalle which he calls "A l'Ami Pierrot" to prevent his operation from being destroyed by Bébert-le-Caid, an influential mobster. But when the latter decides to increase the "protection money", Pierre refuses to pay and fights against his exploiter.
