Empire Falls plot

Empire Falls is about the ins and outs of a small run-down working-class town; Empire Falls, Maine and in particular about the misadventure of Miles Roby (Ed Harris), who runs Empire Grills. Since his mother's death, he has been in a downward spiral and struggles to find his place in his family. At the point when his wife (Helen Hunt) wants to divorce him, Miles learns that his mother has been having an affair with a mysterious man (Philip Seymour Hoffman). It turns out that everything can be traced back to Francine Whiting (Joanne Woodward), the woman who rules pretty much all of Empire Falls.
