El Otro Tom plot
Elena is a single mother who is dependent on social services. Her son Tom has behavioral problems and is stigmatized at school as a 'problem child'. An absent father complicates their troubled relationship. Tom is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and is on psychiatric medication, but a strange accident alerts his mother to its side effects. When she refuses to continue giving him the drugs, social services threaten to take Tom away from her.
