Drifter plot

Tree, a lonely janitor at the Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, California, is accustomed to staying in the background. Tormented by a tragic past and burdened by debts that have rested on his shoulders for generations, he avoids contact with others. He prefers to spend his spare time behind the wheel of his battered but beloved vintage Toyota AE86 Corolla—which he has nicknamed Lola—drifting in the desert twilight. Eventually, Tree's immense talent is noticed, and he gets the chance to participate in a professional drift event.
