Die Ilse Ist Weg plot
Erika Janda, 12 years old and her sister Ilse two years older, live with a rather complicated family background; her parents are divorced. Their mother later married a man named Kurt and their father also remarried. There are two children from the new marriages. So Ilse and Erika now have four half-siblings. This situation regularly causes problems, especially because the different grannies also want to have their say in everything. Ilse, who feels almost grown up, is constantly arguing with her mother. When Ilse comes home after midnight for no obvious reason one evening, her mother takes serious measures: she is placed under house arrest. But what the parents don't know, and Erika does, is that Ilse will skip school from now on, to make up for the time lost due to her house arrest.
