A young mother from El Salvador moves to New York to earn money to pay for a life-saving surgery for her son. There she finds a simple job in a neat restaurant. However, this job quickly takes its toll due to the long working hours, the racism towards her, annoying customers who try to pick her up and colleagues who treat her as an animal rather than a human being.
