Der Sohn plot
Katharina lives with her sixteen-year-old son Stefan in a small town where everyone knows each other. Stefan's severe asthma has long caused Katharina to display an exaggerated concern for her son. His burgeoning sexuality now adds additional concerns. During nighttime wanderings through the city, the teenager marvels at prostitutes and spies on couples while making love. When a young woman is found dead, Katharina fears that Stefan could be the culprit.
