Der Pfandleiher plot

The old pawnbroker Hilary is an unconventional and very headstrong man. After all, life has often played tricks on old Hilary, making him appear ruthless and sometimes even unjust to the outside world. But Hilary also knows a lot about the suffering of the people who go in and out with him every day. For example, there is police officer Tom, who has been waiting for a big event for a long time. Or Danny O'Keefe, who seems to be afraid of something in the world. And there's the young lady Lizzie Shaw, who once played in Hilary's pawn shop as a child.
