Cocktail plot
"When he pours, he reigns."
When Brian comes out of the army, he wants to look for work in New York, but without degrees he doesn't get very far. Then he comes to work in a bar and from his boss Douglas he learns all the tricks of the trade and together they become the most popular bartenders in town. However, Brian is eager to start his own cocktail bar and leaves for Jamaica where he meets the beautiful artist Jordan. But when Brian hooks up with an older rich woman, Jordan leaves him.

Take some Tom Cruise, good music, a good dose of yuppie mentality, New York city and a tropical environment. Shake well and... you get this amazing Cocktail!
What a fun and timeless film it remains.
Saw it a third time I think but I still enjoy it. As a child I was already swinging with bottles and wanted to become a bartender 
Tom Cruise does a great job on this one again. It could well be a sequel to his other success, Risky Business. It's also nice how he and Bryan Brown learned to juggle the bottles for their roles like real bartenders. Seeing this do it with music like Addicted to Love and Hippy Hippy Shake is really great 
Very nice and pleasant 80's film that I can't think of any negatives.

A nice film with unfortunately too little body, or content as you want. The well-chosen music and summery atmospheres flatter the whole and ensure that this film is well worth watching despite the thin story. Nice for a late Friday or Saturday night with a few beers. 3*
