Caddie plot
"she's loved, dumped, kissed and kicked around...but mostly loved"
In 1925 Sydney, Caddy lands a job as a waitress after abandoning her unfaithful husband. However, she has no job and has to feed two children. The working conditions are terrible, but she learns the trade with the help of the barmaid Josie. A brief affair with bookmaker Ted ends badly, but she later falls in love with a charming and sophisticated Greek immigrant, who is also still married. When the Great Depression hits, he is recalled to Greece with a promise to return soon. And again Caddy is alone.
