Bashu plot
A village in southern Iran trembles under Iraqi bombing. A truck stops; a frightened 9-year-old boy appears and hides in the car, which continues on its way. His name is Bashu and he lost both parents during the bombings. The boy gets out in the mountainous north of the country. He doesn't know anyone here, people don't understand him; he hides. Until Naie, a young mother of two and wife of a man seeking work, takes care of him and takes Bashu into his home. They do not speak the same language and Bashu, a darker complexion, disturbs and intrigues the native population.
