Entertaining. Anyway, I love food and nice looking dishes and they appeared often enough in this. The scenes in the kitchen are also fine. Cooper has a less fascinating role and his entire history also feels a bit scripted, but he still manages purely on appearance. Visually okay, the film looks nice and the story is also well told. But the film never really impresses. 3.0*.

Top chef Adam Jones [Bradley Cooper] spent 10 years as a chef in Paris but has lost part of his considerable reputation due to his aggressive attitude in the kitchen and his addiction to drink and drugs. Three years ago, he proverbially disappeared from the face of the earth, but now he's popping up in London: clean, sober and determined to get his third Michelin star and wipe out his competitors of yesteryear. This restaurant drama shows the ups and downs of a top chef at a restaurant where expectations are extremely high and where Adam struggles against his old demons. Adam is by no means a pleasant character and the story hardly has any surprises, but thanks to the strong, convincing cast it is all easy to see. Alicia Vikander has a supporting role as Adam's ex-girlfriend, Emma Thompson plays Adam's psychiatrist, and there are small roles for Uma Thurman and Lily James.
