Buddenbrooks - 1. Teil plot

After his father's death, Thomas sets himself up as the savior of the leading trading house of the Buddenbrooks. He gets into a fight with the black sheep of the family, his brother Christian. And then there's 19-year-old daughter Tony, who doesn't like an arranged marriage with the unsympathetic Bendix.
