The film tells three stories that at first glance have nothing to do with each other. A hit man is on the hunt for a book that is said to be worth a lot of money. The man sees this assignment as his very last job and wants to go to the extreme for this. Tormented college student Jenna sits at home after having a nervous breakdown at school. She runs away and ends up in a village where she rents a room with a nice couple. Finally, there is the professor Mary who is concerned with unmasking supernatural phenomena. Her new challenge comes in the form of Simon who claims to be able to communicate with the dead.
