Behind City Lights plot

"DO WOMEN KNOW THEIR OWN HEARTS? The one didn't until almost too late!"

Jean Lowell is about to marry her neighbor, the young farmer Ben Coleman. The wedding is postponed due to a car accident in which two are injured. The injured Lance Marlowe and Perry Borden are well cared for and Jean falls in love with Lance. The two men return to New York once they have recovered. Jean goes after Lance and Ben agrees to break off their engagement. In New York, Jean is very happy, she stays in a nice hotel, wears beautiful clothes and visits the beautiful places of New York with Lance. Jean does not know that Lance and Perry are notorious thieves and that the ring she is wearing was not obtained fairly.
